Rob Davidson

Born and raised in Chicago, Rob has 20+ years experience in branding and advertising, having worked for several firms throughout the country including Ogilvy & Mather, Leo Burnett, BBDO, J. Walter Thompson, Chiat Day and E.B. Lane Marketing Communications. Throughout his career he developed campaigns for national and international accounts such as Hyatt Resorts, Motorola, Panasonic, McDonald’s, Toshiba, Sears, Allstate Insurance and Target. In 2001 Rob cofounded D+B and continues to personally manage several key accounts for the agency including Tempe Tourism Office, California Bank & Trust, Arizona Attorney General and Phoenix Biomedical Campus for the City of Phoenix Community and Economic Development Department. A commercial rated pilot, Rob is passionate about flying and donates his time to the Civil Air Patrol.

Michela Belluso Davidson

Owner/Managing Partner

Born in West Africa from Italian parents, Michela traveled the world before settling in the United States, where she freelanced as an art director in various cities across the nation, including Miami, Minneapolis and New York. Here she worked under creative leaders at renowned agencies such as Fallon, Crispin & Porter and Carmichael Lynch. Prior to cofounding D+B, Michela was an art director at E.B. Lane Marketing Communications in Phoenix, Arizona, where she met her future partner, Rob Davidson. At D+B, Michela has been instrumental in the creative development of successful campaigns for Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, the City of Phoenix Community and Economic Development Office, Tempe Tourism Office, Tempe Parks and Recreation and the Scottsdale Culinary Festival. Michela has served on many nonprofit boards and marketing committees. She is currently serving on the board of Friends of Maricopa Animal Care & Control, to reduce, and one day eliminate, euthanasia of homeless pets.

Nicholas Papagalos

Strategic Development

Nicholas brings over 35 years experience building marketing campaigns for national brands and growing companies, including CBS Sports, Brown & Williamson (now Reynolds American), Prudential, Bank of America, Honeywell, and Microchip. In that time, he also built a successful advertising agency, which is now a part of D+B. He offers a combination of creativity, formal brand marketing and quantitative analysis. These strengths give him an ability to provide insight into strategic issues, as well as to direct work that brings clarity and power to a brand. Nicholas earned an M.I.M. in marketing with highest distinction from Thunderbird American Graduate School of International Management. His service with charitable organizations includes the Phoenix Symphony, Phoenix Zoo, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and American Diabetes Association. Nicholas plays trumpet with a professional band at local jazz clubs, is an avid competitive shooter, and writes automated computer programs to trade equities and futures.

Ann Papagalos

Public Relations

Ann works on the Public Relations team at D+B. Her campaigns span print, broadcast and internet media at the national level, as well as at the local level in major markets. Ann has provided writing and public relations services for the majority of the agency’s educational accounts. She has been active in numerous community organizations, including the Phoenix Symphony, the Shrine Circus, The Phoenix Zoo, Consortium of Black Artists, and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Ann has a B.S in English from Arizona State University and a M.A. in education from Chapman University. Outside of the office, Ann loves to read and spend time with her two greyhounds, Charlie and Roxy.

Bruce Nilsson

Bruce Nilsson

Executive Creative Director

Bruce has more than 25 years of strategic marketing and copywriting experience. More importantly, he brings extensive marketing experience specifically related to government entities including The Arizona Lottery, Phoenix CVB, Tempe Tourism Office and the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS). In addition to the Phoenix CVB, Bruce has worked on behalf of DoubleTree Hotels, Wyndham Hotels, Best Western Hotels, SilverRock Resort (La Quinta, CA), Orange Tree Golf Resort and Wigwam Resort. He also previously spearheaded the successful Russian Heritage Highway Foundation launch initiative. Other notable account experience includes CVS/Caremark (Fortune 100), Circle K, Arizona Cardinals, Phoenix Coyotes, Norwest Bank, Mesa Community College and Goodwill of Central Arizona. His work has been continually recognized for creative excellence, including the prestigious OBIE award for outdoor advertising. In his spare time, Bruce enjoys golfing and going on ski trips with his son.

Gustavo Estrella

Associate Creative Director

Originally from Mexico, Gustavo earned his degree in graphic design in 2004. With 10 years of experience, Gustavo has created work for such clients as Waste Management, The University of Arizona Tech Parks, Town of Marana, Tucson Electric Power and SRP. Most recently, he has worked on clients in the outdoor industry – McMillan Fiberglass Stocks, Benelli USA and Rainier Ballistics, to name a few. Gustavo is a family man, a techy, a beer connoisseur and a cheese-head for life.

Scott Fors

Web Developer

Scott has extensive experience as a web specialist and developer, having worked in the web industry since 1997. Prior to moving to Phoenix, the Montana-native spent three years living in Mexico, developing a full-featured Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Content Management System (CMS) along with multiple websites for resort hotels. A team player, Scott’s passion is to create functional websites that greatly enhance the user experience. He believes what distinguishes the best developers from the ordinary is their commitment to continually sharpen their skills and to stay ahead of new technologies in an ever-evolving industry. Once a world traveler, now he prefers to spend his free time at the golf course or driving his red sports car a little too fast!

Bob Cristello

Web Developer

Bob joined Davidson Belluso with 30 years working in development. Born and raised in Boston, Bob is a U.S. Army veteran. His resume includes being a former Microsoft Developer Days keynote speaker, Head of Internal Development for Rebar International, Team Lead at Sally Mae and the Head of Computer Sciences at the Hyde School. Bob’s articles on technology have appeared in Visual Basic Programmers Journal, Byte, InfoWorld and Computer Telephony. His skill set includes database design, complex SQL query design, and an impressive list of CMS software with a focus on WordPress. Bob handles our Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Social Media Optimization (SMO) and Digital Advertising, holding all six Google Analytics and Adwords certifications. Bob loves spending time with his family, enjoys the Performing Arts and plays several instruments.

Dianne Cubbage

Media Planner & Buyer

With more than 15 years experience providing media services, Dianne has planned and purchased media for city, tourism and hospitality clients including AMFAC Resorts, Olympus Hospitality Group/Rock Resorts, the Downtown Phoenix Partnership, and National Airlines. In her career, she has also worked with Cox Communications, Phoenix Coyotes, T.W. Lewis, Tramonto and KPHO-TV. Dianne has been a key personnel on the Tempe Tourism Office account for the past three years, resulting in a successful advertising campaign with above industry standards analytics results. When she is not negotiating media buys, Dianne loves watching football.

Janelle VanDriel

Account Executive

Born and raised in Canada, Janelle has managed multi-channel marketing projects for over 8 years. Her past marketing experience in Los Angeles included several national clients with a focus on integrated campaigns in the healthcare and sports industries, and nonprofit sector. Notable accounts include World Vision, American Cancer Society and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Forward-thinking and marketing-minded, Janelle has a strong background in business and brand development, print and interactive campaigns, account management, and marketing consulting for startups. At D+B, Janelle manages accounts in her areas of marketing expertise, and drives process improvements to maximize efficiency. An American and Canadian citizen and personal trainer, Janelle is an exercise enthusiast and recently completed her first Grand Canyon Rim to Rim to Rim hike.

Christine joined D+B with 15+ years of account management experience, working primarily in the outdoor, healthcare, construction, and educational industries. Before agency life, Christine worked as production supervisor with two prominent, high-volume publishing companies. It was there she gained experience in coordinating large, complex projects with multiple deadlines. More than a few clients have commented on her steady composure in all circumstances. Her performance has built a long list of satisfied clients. Outside of the office, Christine enjoys spending time with family friends and staying active in her church.

Heather Peterson

Account Coordinator

Heather, a proud native of Phoenix, Arizona, loves and appreciates her desert roots. She has a strong passion and drive for all things marketing. She has worked on a wide range of projects spanning across multiple disciplines including, traditional and digital advertising, public relations, social media and interactive development. Heather has a focus on the tourism industry and government sector. Her knowledge of brand development and strategy has yielded solid work relationships, along with a very solution-oriented approach to her work. While earning her B.S. in marketing at Arizona State University, she studied international business and Spanish for a semester abroad in Barcelona, Spain. Heather loves traveling and experiencing different cities and cultures. In her spare time, she teaches yoga and meditation and enjoys spreading awareness about the many benefits of a mind, body, spirit connection.

Suzanne obtained a degree in marketing from University of Arizona and has been working in sales and marketing for more than 13 years. At D+B, Suzanne is responsible for growth and client acquisition. Passionate about building relationships and generating new business, Suzanne loves meeting new people. A travel enthusiast, her favorite place to get away is the beach. Adventures with her son fill her weekends with hiking, dining, movie-going, and football throwing.

Karen Chapman

New Business Development

In addition to working as the Head Office Human Resources Manager for a nationally recognized DIY & Garden Center Retailer, Karen’s background includes working for nonprofits including The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, The Marilyn B. Gula Mountains of Hope Foundation and volunteering for animal groups such as the AZ Animal Welfare League and Healing Hearts. Before moving to the United States in 1994, Karen had worked in England, Spain and France. At D+B, Karen keeps everyone sane and everything running smoothly.

Heather Austin

With 10+ years experience in PR, Heather has led comprehensive campaigns for numerous local and national clients. At E.B. Lane Marketing Communications, Heather served the Downtown Phoenix Partnership, The Arizona Biltmore Resort and Spa, The Arizona Department of Health Services, The Arizona Parents Commission, The Arizona Lottery, Mesa Community College, forging partnerships with the City of Mesa, East Valley Partnership and the Mesa Association of Hispanic Citizens. She has also managed clients such as Maricopa Community College District, NextCare Urgent Care, Notah Begay Golf Tournament, Wet ‘n’ Wild Phoenix and the Maricopa Superintendent’s Office. Born and raised in Oakland CA, Jeff relocated to Phoenix, AZ in 2002. In his 25 years of experience in accounting, he has worked with government, relocation & private sector corporations. In his free time, Jeff is actively involved in sports recruiting and high school football camps. Jeff’s passion has always been helping others by sharing his life’s experiences. He volunteers with Big Brothers Big Sisters and loves relaxing with his Corgis.
